Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese exercise system suitable for young and old alike; despite it’s soft flowing movements it can provide a strong though non aerobic workout.
It is used for
SELF DEFENCE (Martial Art)
Classes will comprise of a set of ‘energy’ exercises (qigong) designed to bring energy into the body rather than the ‘Western’ way of exhausting the body.
The exercises are non-aerobic and help increase the range of motion of the limbs, improve joint flexibility and resilience.
The Wu style tai chi chuan form which is a set of movements performed slowly and gently helps relieve the symptoms of stress and aids relaxation, helps improve balance and normalizes blood pressure. The movements are also very detailed and precise which helps keep the mind calm and focused. The Tuesday evening class also allows for students to stay on (until around 9:30pm) to try or practice sticking or pushing hands.
